Tate Spivey, Head Coach
Coach Spivey enters his third season as head coach of Danville Locomotive. Prior to his time with the Locomotive, Spivey finished a successful 6 year stint as the Assistant Coach at Centre College. During his time at Centre, the Colonels had a combined record of 63-34-12, appearing in 5 consecutive conference finals to go along with 3 NCAA Tournament appearances. Tate was a vital part of Centre’s historic 2019 NCAA Final Four run.
Before trading in the boots for a whistle, Tate had a decorated playing career at Transylvania University. He was a four year starter, two-time team captain and was twice named 1st-team all conference.
Tate is very active in youth soccer in the Central Kentucky area. He currently coaches two National League teams for Kings Hammer Academy in Lexington, KY. He also runs a soccer specific personal training business in his hometown of Harrodsburg, KY.

Wyatt Durbin, Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach
Wyatt Durbin enters his third season as assistant Coach and goalkeeper coach of Danville Locomotive. Coach Durbin is a former NCAA Division I student-athlete from Saint Francis University and is now an Assistant and goalkeeper coach for the University of the Cumberlands. He previously held the same role at the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH). Before joining UNOH, he held positions at Centre College and Kings Hammer Bluegrass.
Hailing from Richmond, Kentucky, Durbin boasts a rich soccer background. Before joining the Red Flash, he was part of the U-16 and U-18 United States Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) teams at Shattuck St. Mary’s. His experience extended to the Premier Development League (PDL) – now known as USL League Two – where he played for the Derby City Rovers and Reading United.
Alec McAlister, Mental Performance Coach
Alec McAlister is a current master’s student in Sport and Performance Psychology at Florida State University. Alec is a past player and captain for the Danville Locomotive, and he will bring his 3 years of coaching experience, extensive playing experience both abroad and collegiately, and passion for mental performance coaching to the team this year.
Alec played Division I soccer at the University of Evansville and Wofford College following a gap year with the U23 squad of Città di Anagni in Italy’s Serie D. He later transferred to Centre College, where he earned all-conference honors in both seasons and captained the team in his second year.
He has interned twice with FC Cincinnati’s Sport Science and Nutrition Department, supporting first-team training sessions and tracking player data via heart rate monitors. Most recently, he served as a sport psychology intern with Venados F.C. in Mérida, Mexico, where he led Spanish-language workshops for academy teams. He is excited to contribute his passion and experience to support the squad in often-overlooked areas of high level soccer.
Jack Little, General Manager
Jack Little is a rising third-year student at the University of Georgia majoring in Journalism with a focus in sports media. Jack, who was the first ever media manager for the Danville Locomotive, will assume the role of General Manager this summer. Jack has experience in both sports media and sports management.
During his time at Boyle County High School, Jack helped found the Boyle County Sports Network where he served as the primary play-by-play broadcaster for the Rebels for four years. He also wrote for the school’s online blog and the Danville Advocate-Messenger while running the @BRNnews twitter and instagram account. In college, Jack has done play-by-play broadcasting for Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia while sharpening his skills in sports media through UGA’s sports media certificate.
Last summer, he interned for Mansfield Town FC in England’s third division following a maymester at the University of Oxford. Jack has gained skills in sports management, as well, through his minor and his semester study abroad experience with Real Madrid’s sports management program.
